Men 2 – Q4
From ‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah admitted into Paradise a man who was easygoing when he bought (1), easygoing when he sold (2), easygoing when he settled a debt (3), and easygoing when he collected a debt (4).
Reported by al-Nasa’i in his Sunan no. 4696 and authenticated by Shaykh al-Albani in his verification of Sunan al-Nasa’i.
(1) That is, he is not insistent when negotiating a price reduction and does not delay paying the seller.
(2) That is, he does not overpraise the product he sells to the point of deceiving the buyer, and he does not conceal defects in what he sells, even if minor.
(3) That is, he pays the person in full, on time.
(4) That is, he does not demand his due harshly or insistently.
