According to Muhammad ibn Sirin: On a rainy day, Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) said to his muezzin: When you say Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah, then do not say Hayya ‘ala as-salah, but say Sallu fi buyutikum (pray in your homes). Then he said: The one who was better than me (the Prophet ﷺ) did this. Indeed, Jumu’ah is obligatory, but I disliked making you leave your homes and walk in the mud and slippery muck.
