By consensus of the scholars (ijma‘), the congregational Friday prayer consists of 2 units (rak‘ahs), in accordance with the continuous practice from the time of the Prophet ﷺ, as mentioned in fiqh works such as Ibn Qudama’s Al-Mughni.
