They asked for a blessed tree similar to that of the idolaters for their rituals. The Prophet ﷺ replied: “By Allah, you have just repeated what the Children of Israel said to Moses: “Make for us a god like their gods!”” (Reference: Reported by al-Tirmidhi no. 2180 and Ahmad no. 2195.)
