During the Battle of Yamama, the Companions fought fiercely against Musaylima the Liar and his army. This battle took place during the caliphate of Abu Bakr and was led by Khalid ibn al-Walid. Reported in Ibn Kathir’s Al-Bidaya wa’l-Nihaya.
