According to Mansur, Mujahid ibn Jabr (d. 104 AH) said: The first martyr in Islam was Sumayyah, the mother of Ammar ibn Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him). Abu Jahl went to her and stabbed her in her private parts.

(*) Sumayyah bint Khoubbat (may Allah be pleased with her) was killed by this polytheist from Quraysh at the beginning of Islam only because she was Muslim. This occurred when the Muslims were weak and few in number.
