According to Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), the Prophet (may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) said that Allah accepts a servant’s repentance as long as his soul has not reached his throat. Reported by al-Tirmidhi in Sunan no. 3537, which he graded authentic, and also authenticated by Shaykh al-Albani in his verification of Sunan al-Tirmidhi.
