Ibn Abd al-Barr al-Maliki (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Inciting fights between animals is reprehensible, and stirring up dissension among people is a major sin. The creatures most detested by Allah and farthest from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ are those who peddle slander, those who sow discord among relatives, and those who seek out the faults of the pious.
